except he’s cutting funding for more opportunities to be given to more biochem students. That money isn’t reallocated back into other grant funding that still funds those programs. it’s a net deficit overall

Undergraduate Research Opportunities over the summer, where students can get paid to do lab research and present a thesis on their experiments. They cut dei grant funding that would have included more students into doing research. If they took that money and reallocated into more general research grant funding, then sure we can still have more students doing research anyways. but it’s just being cut and not reallocated

Oh okay, so DEI. So they cut funding to individuals who got the opportunity based on gender or race and gave it to people who were actually qualified. That makes logical sense
