Dude, Iâm not religious either, but faith brings so much happiness and joy to many people, and Iâm not gonna ruin that. There are plenty of bad actors that have weaponized Christianity and make people like you and me jaded, but we are no better if we act hateful ourselves, weâd be another sect of bad actors.
Itâs also created some of the largest-reaching mutual aid networks ever seen. It's the largest religion, of course. Many have done harm under its name, and thatâs a disgusting reality, but to not acknowledge the good thatâs also been done is just dishonest. We can acknowledge two realities: that so much harm has been done due to the bastardization of its text but also all the good thatâs come from its messaging.
Crusades, witch hunts, all of the atrocities across Turtle Island, Australia, pretty much everywhere on the globe. Yâall have pushed the same bullshit to enforce slavery and defend genocides. Itâs a net negative. It continues to harbour cultists and rapists who are treated better than minorities who just exist.
Crusades were justified, witch hunts were donât by the Protestants, not the Catholics, Australia was the heretical anglicans, and Catholic colonist mostly converted by choice, Protestant by force, because that was the orders of the pope at the time that it should be by choice, and in general colonist donât work for the church, missionaries followed to spread the good news. And the Catholic Church, specifically the jesuit missionaries spread teachings opposed to slavery always. Know history
Ok Iâm gonna go on a limb here and say you probably donât have a stable home with a married mother and father, and your ideal past time is sleeping with a many people as often as possible. Thatâs cult activity right there. I donât care about Protestant. Iâm defending the Catholic Church alone, the one Jesus himself started. A cult is the worshipping of a NON Devine or all perfect being, usually in defiance of the true god (like Satan), with a set of immoral teaching, and immoral goals.
If youâre talking about the crusades yes they were justified. Because guess what. The Muslims attacked first. Egypt, north and east Africa, and most of the Middle East, including Israel the holy land, was all already Catholic, and by choice, the Muslims came from Saudi Arabia and conquered it all away and were threatening to invade Europe and were already sending pirates to pillage Catholic trade. Thatâs why the crusades started. So yes it was justified.
