if you ask someone to watch your cats while you're gone for a week, is cleaning the litterbox implied? Or should I have explicitly mentioned it?

it’s implied but i’d always let them know how often you like to clean it, non-cat owners especially may not know

it’s always implied, just like asking someone to watch ur dog is letting them out and back in

I ask cuz i just got back from vacation (i was gone a week) and i asked my friend (who has a cat back home) to watch them and I don't think the litterbox was cleaned once, and i didn't say to clean it but i mentioned where all the stuff for it was

I just dont wanna be rude and ask cuz they were doing me a huge favor but at the same time it makes me upset for my cats

damn, you could say something like “hey did you have a chance to clean the litterbox? it seems fuller than normal so just want to make sure i don’t need to take my cat(s) to the vet” since sometimes excess peeing can mean they’re sick
