Black voting districts (mostly in the South)are tied to the history of voter suppression and the enforcement of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. They are drawn so Black voters have a fair chance to elect candidates we support. If Black votes are restricted we won’t make up enough voters in any one district to elect representatives we want.

Representation in elections/referendums should not be on the basis of race but on political demographic. Black voters will be represented because they will be able to vote for the representatives of their respective alignments.

yes, but that’s not what’s occurring in Louisiana, they’re effectively diluting Democrat, minority voters by using a majority Republican rural white population in the voting districts, it’s purposefully attempting to ensure they don’t have their fair representation

You’re assuming they all vote Democrat, which they don’t. In that district it’s made one race majority over another on purpose. Again, color does not matter. You vote Democrat, republican, independent, or other regardless of skin color.
