Hey besties, say in theory I got a speeding ticket. Is it better to pay for it or show up at the court date?

Unless you have a solid defense, I’d just pay it. If it’s really bad though, like a reckless op, go to court.

Going to court is kinda a 50/50 shot without a solid defense that you weren’t speeding. Sometimes the cop just won’t show up and the case gets thrown out, but if the cop does show then you’re kinda screwed.

1. Challenge ticket in court 2. Have your lawyer bring into question the last time their radar gun was calibrated 3. Win the trial With a good lawyer, should be easy money

Maybe it’s because of the jurisdiction I was in or the fact that I was a minor when I got the ticket, but there was no cop in court when I went. I was so far over the limit that I would’ve gotten a reckless op (an actual crime) if I wasn’t a minor. But basically I’m saying I’m not sure if the cops even go to ticket hearings
