I agree. It’s just their way of saying “I hope you know you’re loved” not a condescending phrase that’s pressuring you to conform to their beliefs. (I say this as a Christian, who has been very aware that the condescending/judgmental kind exist)

I mean I’m a Christian and idk if I’d be posting that. I could post that you’re loved without mentioning God or Jesus. If someone doesn’t believe in them then I won’t shove my beliefs down their throat. It’s a nice sentiment to post but they gotta remember that it’ll be downvoted

It’s because it’s true I love you all Jesus loves you all and of the creator of the universe loves you soooo deeply you can love yourself just as much!🫶🏼

why does it bother people that much. i'm a hardcore atheist, and if i see that shit i just am like "okay" then scroll away. if anyone says it to me in person i say "oh okay thanks" and walk away. why do people feel the need to say shit and argue. just ignore it if you don't like it

I was raised Catholic: religion has harmed so many, especially in our age group. I appreciate others wishing me the best in whatever their faith’s equivalent is, but a LOT of us have beef with the Christian god/his various forms such as Christ. Also, forms of “Jesus loves you” are often used condescendingly by those proselytizing at those they see as inferior “sinners” & even in queer conversion programs. It might have been intended genuinely, but unfortunately it has negative connotations.

fr, it’s only annoying when they spam it on unrelated posts. but a standalone post is cute and i’m not religious at all. just take it as a message of love instead of being miserable and edgy about everything

these kind of posts get backlash bc going "jesus loves you" is super pushy. a lot of us on here have been brutally harmed by religion so that post is basically a trigger

I don’t think it’s wrong to include God or Jesus, *but* I don’t think there should be any further discussion, otherwise it’s persuasion and pressing your beliefs on others

hey so making assumptions about people of a certain religion based on radical followers of that religion is actually not cool. see how i don’t automatically accuse every christian and muslim person around me of being homophobic and hateful? very mindful, very demure.

Exactly. Most people escape religion because of the exact opposite of “Jesus loves you” so it’s triggering

Right there are ways of doing it without being forceful or persuasive! I don’t think these posts are trying to be but then again idk what their motives are

That’s true. It’s very hard to tell when there’s so many Christians that are judgmental and pushy.

Okay would it be different if I said I love you?? Am I being pushy saying I love you? The only difference is Jesus’s love is much stronger!

hey so Catholicism, most Eastern Orthodox branches, and many Protestant branches of Christianity are all explicitly anti-gay so it’s a bit disingenuous to act like its only a few radical followers who are homophobic

Assuming the person hates gay people just bc they are christian is wrong but a lot of christians DO hate gay people. Your comment is irrelevant.

On one hand, assuming someone is homophobic because they’re Christian isn’t accurate! But as a gay Christian who grew up around other Christians, I can say - it’s definitely not just the radical ones. Unfortunately, it’s not just not uncommon… it’s very common. Even as someone who shares the faith, if someone brings up Christianity unprompted, I do instinctively put my guard up a little - just to protect myself because I’ve learned through experience with other Christians that I have to. :(

Don’t follow Christianity, follow Jesus Christ. Christianity has been used to justify slavery, the Salem witch trials and the holocaust. Being a follower of Jesus Christ has nothing to do with who’s right and who’s wrong or being democrat or republican. It has everything to do with accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior, and living out his teachings in daily life. He loves you so much and the life he gave you is so significant he gave his life to give you an eternal one 🫶

Literally, the production of all these denominations is only satans way of dividing the body of Christ all that matters is we accept Jesus’s suffering, breaking, bleeding, loneliness, pain etc. so we don’t have to, so we can have freedom now and forever from the bondage and lies Satan puts on us🫶🏼

yeah idk i just never really cared about the bible, i didn’t even realize people actually took it seriously until like a year ago. i come from a christian family and i kinda just thought people read stuff from the bible for the sake of tradition. but my super christian extended family came over and i was listening to them talk about the bible (again for like the millionth time in my life) and all of a sudden i was like wait bro i don’t think this is a joke anymore….

Ok that’s interesting, genuinely curious do you think the Bible is divinely inspired? Or I guess I should start by asking like do you consider yourself a Christian or more agnostic who prays sometimes
