Hot take: the US is too dog friendly. I love dogs but o don’t want to see yours in the grocery store or farmers market or mall or anywhere other than a park or hiking trail. Unless you need a service dog, keep it at home

I just vacationed in Spain there were way more dogs per person there than America

Farmers markets are outside and the dogs inside are usually claimed to be service dogs, and unfortunately questioning/doubting everyone means that we wouldn’t believe the actual service dogs and probably deprive someone of something they need :(

I don’t want dogs around my food or to be tripping on them or to watch them burn their feet on hot pavement or a dog barking and pulling. I think there could be ethically be better restrictions for service dogs/ dogs in public. I’m sick and tired of watching a dog fight every time I leave my house

You don’t have to answer but can I ask where you live? I have seen any of that. Like there’ll be dog in Walmart but they’re usually in the buggy and every farmers market I know is tucked away in some grassy little corner or shoved in alleyways

I’m in Idaho. I’ve seen 100lb dogs loose in every grocery store I’ve been in. Our farmers market strictly prohibits animals and there’s no grass near the market for dogs to sit. Im just fed up with dogs everywhere. They’re cute, I love them and think they’re super cute but I’m done tripping on them and forced to interact with untrained animals in public.
