I keep my music on pretty low on the porch, so I can ideally hear both, and then it fucks up the vibe when nature decides it’s time for harsh screeching louder than my music

yeah, my girlfriend and I have devised a concept known as “good bug distance” about crickets and cicadas lmao, if they’re too far away you can’t hear them at all, if they’re too close they’re ear piercingly loud, but there’s a goldilocks zone where it’s just vibes to hear them in the background
