i think this might be a cultural thing. like as a black person we just be describing people based on their race “who’s that lil lightskin boy she be hangin out with” “what’s that white girl in that one show” <- neutral use of race it’s more like an adjective not indicating any malice

Tbh I don’t even know if it can be called a hate crime. He was severely mentally ill - schizophrenia and more. My problem with the whole case is the judge that let him go 14 times.

No one denying that it was clearly racially motivated. But it’s very apparent that people are using this poor girls death to justify their hatred towards black people, even though many black people expressed how disgusted they are by what happened.

If a white man stabbed a black girl in the neck and a bunch of other white people watched her sink to the floor and die/ did nothing…. Then the white man said “got that black girl”, you would still say you have questions? It’s super confusing why people think it’s about race.

so the surrounding people are one thing but talkin about the killer this might just be a AAVE thing because calling someone a white girl white boy isn’t like malicious it’s just a normal neutral description so if that one sentence is the only reasoning for racial motivations idk id think the motivation was voices in his head

It’s because he said “I got that white girl” and after he stabbed her he told a man “she called me a n*****” before he walked off the train (even though she didn’t) It’s all on camera sadly

I’m sure there’s been footage of a white man stabbing a black girl on a train car and her bleeding out as other white people watched and played on their phones. Followed by the white man saying that she’s black and he got her. Let’s be fr you can’t draw the comparison
