As an autistic person this is a weird asf thing to say. She’s the first openly autistic player, and it’s not up to the production team to diagnose players that they think are autistic or out players who know they are but don’t want to share that info. For all intents and purposes, she is the first. She’s also specified that she’s the first OPENLY autistic player (key word). I’m sure there have been some before her, but this is a ridiculous take. Educate yourself on what autism spectrum disorder is. It isn’t the job of our community to educate everyone else. Google exists. Use it.

-the first trans player because there may have been other people before him who were trans but not out. Marketing her as the first autistic player made complete sense and I’m glad they made her autism a part of the story but not the entirety of it. Also it’s weird as FUCK to boldly proclaim that another player is definitely autistic when he has (afaik) never discussed that or been confirmed to be. Diagnosing him from a few reality TV scenes where he’s starving on an island is extremely weird.

As an autistic person this is such a weird and gross assumption and an even worse response. Don’t diagnose someone from a reality show where they’re likely at their worst. Btw autism can also look like a LOT of other disorders/neurodivergent conditions so even if he is ND it very well might not be autism

Hi yes I’m autistic as well. It’s just been a bit since I thought about Rome and I was curious if he ever publicly said anything about being neurodivergent. If he never publicly said anything, I was wondering what made you think that way. It was just an question, there is no need to be rude to me
