It seems excessive to me too, but I’m also not a medical expert. I assumed they know a lot more about snake bites than we do. They might be concerned about infections, dehydration, or other things I’m not even thinking of. I don’t quite understand either, but the doctors want the competitors to be able to play. They never want to take them out unless it’s necessary for their long-term health. I trust that they made the right decision for Jake, even if I don’t understand it.
But we didn’t see that and it’s just assumptions. And everyone is under stress there like at this point it shouldn’t matter. On top of that they could easily do blood tests to verify. And if they don’t have the equipment for that, that’s really poor medical care on their end and shouldn’t ruin his chances
Idk I question it because it seems like there have been an excessive amount of med evacs in the new era. The only med evac that didn’t happen immediately was Matthew and Daniel who were in much worse shape. Plus they monitored Matthew regularly and eventually pulled him when he was in too bad of shape. Why they couldn’t have just done that with Jake is beyond me honestly. While I am not a medical expert either I am studying to be in a medical profession so I do know my stuff still.
Ok that’s fair but he was asymptomatic which for a bite of that venom yield he would show signs and symptoms. I agree that they should be more cautious but he clearly was fine. They couldve also done a blood and hormone analysis to see 1. If there was any venom shown and 2. What hormone levels increased like adrenaline and cortisol
