It’s nice that she donated and she could speak out about other things. It’s never all or nothing like the comments say. Swifties raised over a million dollar for an aquarium because of the shirt she wore in a bts clip. She doesnt have to speak out but she could do a lot more good if she did

Being famous comes with responsibility. Dozens of celebrities have made clear statements like this without using personal security as a cop-out. Why? Because they have integrity and values beyond selling 8 versions of the same album to rip off your fans.

She'll do literally everything but speak on Gaza or the ICE kidnappings

She doesn’t do it = she’s greedy She does it = “oh she could’ve done more”

imo donating her money to individuals in need is far more impactful than speaking on something she has no control over.

That's flat out stupid. People like Taylor Swift have far reach and the ability to change people's minds and get them to pay attention. People fucking worship her; you bet your ass they'd start giving a fuck if she did. And by the way, speaking out about Gaza is FREE and takes 30 SECONDS.

and the people whose minds could be potentially changed by taylor swift have even less power. she’s not a politician. she’s also had plenty of threats against her already so from a personal safety standpoint i think its reasonable to not want a target on her back.

She can't even do the bare minimum and I'm sure that's hard to see from your pedestal of white plantation owner ancestry privilege

oh sorry i forgot that donating $100k to a sick child’s family is less than the bare minimum. my bad.

Let’s give this energy to our politicians instead of a celebrity on the internet pls

I agree she doesn’t have to speak out and that it could be beneficial for her to. I don’t agree with others that she has to though. I think people need to remember she’s a celebrity to make and share music, not political commentary

People would be more forgiving of her for not being political if she never released that scene of her crying bc she wanted to be political imo.

I agree. The best thing to do is to just stay out of it completely.

And I can see how you feel that way I don’t think people realize though that she gets more famous every year and has had people stalk her and follow her to the point where she’s feared her life. Whether you see it or not, she probably feels if she speaks up about too much in this political climate she will be physically targeted If I were her I know I would be terrified to say shit. People hate her for no reason. Imagine how much they’ll hate her if they think they have a reason

Wow, she must really be dealing with some crazy security issues and death threats that the 99 other world famous celebs who have spoken out on Gaza haven't

I think you need to remember, again, she’s not a politician she’s a song writer and is not obligated to speak out. I’m so glad those 99 celebrities you’ve mentioned felt comfortable doing so. If someone else doesn’t feel comfortable, you shouldn’t make them.

She won't be remembered fondly, and neither will her fans who defended her. This is just one of the reasons. Already in 2025, she has lost a huge chunk of her reputation for her greed, pettiness, and lack of integrity. If she grooms yet another minor, it might be the end for her, honestly.

I really dislike the argument that she should stay quiet bc of her personal safety. She has the best security money could buy and if Ariana, who actually was a victim of a terror attack, can continue to speak out, I don’t see why Taylor can’t. But again, im sure she has reasons why she can’t speak out and unless she explicitly says she’s pro-Israel, i wont stop listening to her.

And I dislike the assumption that her staying quiet means she’s a shit person. To each their own, I suppose

Also, the scene of her crying regarding speaking out was in like, 2016. Very different political climate. Right now in 2025, we have talk show hosts being banned for making a singular joke about the president. Do you see what I’m saying?

Where did I make the assumption that she’s a shit person? I’m sure she has reasons to not speak out. I’m just saying “personal safety” is a reason that’s easily debunked.

I’m not accusing you of saying she’s a shit person, other people use this as reasoning though I do not believe personal safety easily debunked… I don’t think you understand people hate her just to hate her. Could you imagine if they had reason to? She released a necklace and people accused her of being a Nazi. People run miles to make her look evil.

And I’m not saying your opinion is invalid, I am saying that we need to look beyond the surface here and remember it’s not as easy as we may think it is. You and I are ordinary people, we have no idea what it is like to be at the fame level of Taylor swift
