I mean she doesn’t HAVE to be doing more. she’s only a musician. we should look to people who are educated on politics to speak on politics, not random musicians

Celebrities have a significant role because their voice has significant reach across the public and influence with politically powerful people. Taylor Swift could meet with Trump if she really, really wanted to; countless celebrities have. There is no excuse for her inaction when dozens of celebrities are aware of their power and are doing much more than her to make the world a better place.

No one would be asking her to do more if she didn’t release a clip of her crying to her dad asking for permission to be more political. I do agree that politicians are the only one who can make actual change but she can also do a lot of good if she spoke up.

You're a fucking idiot. People aren't going to stop worshipping celebrities because dumbasses like you are calling them dumb. Given that dumbasses like yourself will not be successful in moving millions to stop celebrity worship, we should take advantage of the situation by having celebrities use their voices for positive political statements that support the oppressed. Which most celebrities actually do, except for greedy self-absorbed cowards like Taylor Swift.
