I feel like so many people are saying Wood (which I love) is too vulgar or inappropriate but i know if Sabrina came out with the same thing y’all would eat it up and say it’s funny (it is - also no hate Sabrina ily)

It isn’t as witty/well done as Sabrina’s music. Like house tour is hilarious because it has a plot along with the innuendo and Tay’s over here like ‘lol wood’

I would hate it if Sabrina did it as well

Also ik the swiftologist said it was gross and I do disagree with him but I think he is way overhated like just agree to disagree and I do understand most of his takes so don’t hate on him in general

Seriously though, why are people getting so offended by this line? God forbid a woman is in love and… satisfied 😭😭

Like it just feels like everything is a double standard with her. Why can’t she be cheeky and playful too just let the woman live

Or Chappell roan in red wine supernova - “I got a wand and a rabbit”

“I got a wand and a rabbit” has more depth to it than his dick is hard so let me call it wood

Indeed. Sabrina was making a joke about the general mediocrity of men in tears, and making it grandiose by saying ‘oh god you can do one thing without being asked and now I’m insanely attracted to you. What a sad world we’re living in.’ Not the same as ‘ he unlocked my thighs because I’m attracted to him.’

I could talk all day about the depth of red wine supernova as a queer love song and how the use of the wand and rabbit is supposed to symbolize the magic of lesbian sex (especially in the context of Chappell roan who initially only had straight sex)

Okay I totally see your points from 1 & 3 about the difference in song writing but I just think both styles can be good like I don’t think the song has to have amazing lyrics to enjoy how fun it is but I guess everyone just has different preferences

I completely agree with you! I really only used that line bc Taylor said his magic wand or something and it reminded me of Chappell

Again not trying to say that Sabrina and Chappell lack depth I think their wit and writing are both so good

I prefer music with more depth so to me I didn’t like it, and if Sabrina had released the same exact song I still wouldn’t like it. I prefer music with more depth, so I was only responding since you said, “if Sabrina came out with the same thing yall would eat it up”. So like my preference is that I wouldn’t like it

I totally get that & I feel like it’s so healthy to be able to talk about differences in opinions and preferences in a respectful way so I’m glad that you commented and we had that convo

Just curious did you like the album in general ? Sorry I have like nobody to talk to about it in real life so I’m yapping rn

I didn’t. I felt like it was a lyrical letdown. I liked the production and think it could have been a significantly better album if she took more time writing it
