like he literally wrote some of her best songs and in the eras she was with him produced amazing music. now as soon as it’s travis the quality seems sm worse. it just missing that era of her life

and yes, i would rather have that than her writing decline this much especially because she has written countless great happy songs in the past. also mind you, we are fans, we have no control over how she acts. so why does it matter what i miss

this album isn’t meant to be insanely deep. it’s easily digestible. it’s fun, it’s light, it’s pop. 1989 has such similar writing save for, like, clean. not everything has to be insanely poetic like folklore/evermore/ttpd. she’s also clearly sooo happy so yeah i’ll take showgirl for exactly what it is

i like 1989 like every song is good this album can’t say the same i’m not talking about the genre or saying i wish it was more deep, i just wish that it was written better. like i literally just said she has many happy songs prior to this album that are very enjoyable. but this album isn’t enjoyable for me. not because of the genre.

i didn’t even talk about genre. i was talking about how 1989’s lyrics aren’t the most immaculately, beautiful poetic thing i’ve ever heard. they’re both good albums and they both have pretty surface level writing

and i’m saying even though 1989 is fairly surface level it’s way better than this album. i’m saying the surface level aspect isn’t the problem. i feel like u don’t even know what ur arguing about anymore
