She actually does often have excellent and thoughtful lyrics. This album feels very breezy, but that's not a bad thing at all. She's just taking a new approach. I also feel like this whole album could be written into a screenplay.

i’m not saying they aren’t good lyrics at all and i like this album. my point is that her lyrics are not difficult for people to comprehend but swifites love to act like they are so smart for understanding them when she isn’t trying to make it difficult to understand

Yes, I will say that some of her songs have been challenging for some people I know to understand, but those people aren't really into literature or anything, you know.

Also, I'm not saying it's difficult to grasp the overall meaning of the songs; that shouldn't be hard. But not everyone picks up on “He was a hothouse flower to my outdoorsman,” “Is it romantic how all my elegies eulogize me,” “Stood on the cliffside screaming give me a reason,” “Now you hang from my lips like the gardens of Babylon,” and “Glass shattered on the white cloth.” I am not saying these are the most complicated lyrics ever, but they're easy for someone to overlook or misconstrue
