Can I just say that Midnights was the last new Taylor album that I truly enjoyed and it felt well curated and written, 60% of TTPD and all of TLOAS just show a significant decline in her artistic integrity imo, I want her to really regroup and take time

agree i really enjoyed parts of ttpd but hated others i think she needs to completely stop writing for the radio or something too

Honestly, I think it’s bc she doesn’t have anything new to sing about. The songs I liked on showgirl were about getting her masters back (so an ending to my years ricochet) and her reminiscing about what could’ve been in the past. I don’t love ruin the friendship but I do appreciate it for being something new in her discography. Everything else though, there’s another song in another album that’s so much better imo

Somebody needs to tell her no once in a while and I fear she is surrounded by yes men, max martin and shellback will say yes to anything as long as the cheque clears and she lowkey bulldozes jack, I also want her to stop with the variants and remixes because it just cheapens the work, like I don’t want to hear opalite the lube remix or whatever 😭

TTPD has her best songwriting but also her worst (before showgirl was released) imo. I can’t say TTPD is her best when the title track exists 😭

I never hated the title track but now that you mention it the title track kind reminds me of tlosg writing but other than that and robin I love every song especially for the song writing

It’s still my fav album but i get it because I think that’s what happens to me with show girl. Actually romantic is ruined by a few icky lines, sane with eldest daughter even if that’s what she’s going for I don’t like it, same with wish list, and honey

good songwriting also means being poignant and concise with what you say, TTPD was just word vomit after a certain point
