i think they just expected folklore/evermore vibes when those two albums are anomalies compared to her others ya know?? like this is the same woman who writes lines like “haters gonna hate” “can’t spell awesome without ME!” “i’m the problem it’s me” “draw a cat eye sharp enough to kill a man” “no on was around to tweet it” LOL!! she is clearly capable of both poetry and silliness

I like the beats but the cringey lyrics are too much for me. I can do a cringy song here and there like lover, but with showgirl, it’s the whole album??
