At the risk of sounding too woke, having a “graphic” sex song that sounds identical to a song sung by children is a choice

To me wood sounds like a song by Sabrina Carpenter, which I don’t mind, nor do I think Taylor was trying to sound like her, but would you say Sabrina’s music sounds like it’s for children??

Now a lot of songs on the album have similar chord progressions to other songs, and I do think that was intentional

I know but this is the first song I’ve heard that sounds exactly like want you back

Like actually romantic sounds a lot like where is my mind, Beverly Hills, Victoria’s Secret, when I come around, and more, so I don’t think there’s any issue there. But I can’t think of any other song that sounds like want you back

I mean I did say it sounds too woke but it’s just how I feel.

Which song? Also, yea, I’d say a good chunk of Sabrina’s discography is kid friendly. Not the last three albums tho

Were you talking about Wood? But yeah wood is the song that sounds like something Sabrina would sing. If you think Wood sounds like a song children sing, I was just asking if you felt the same way about Sabrina’s music.

Oh, i thought you meant that wood sounds like a current song in Sabrina’s discography. I don’t think wood sounds like a kids song, but it sounds exactly like want you back by the Jackson 5, and 4/5 of them were children when the song was released.

I wish she discussed this further. I wasn’t able to see the movie but I know she talked about George Michael and keeping his estate updated about everything when working on father figure, but I haven’t heard of anything similar with the other tracks

OH okay I am following now!! my bad!! You’re so right, and honestly think it’s probably the same chord progression.

I saw the movie and she doesn’t talk about it. She does talk about George Michael during father figure but that is because she sampled his song and used some of the lyrics and the title. I feel like almost every song has at least a snippet of another song in the background. I know someone has a list somewhere on tik tok they came up with. Like life of a showgirl sounds like The Other Side from the greatest showman
