Yeah, it feels like people expected the deep lyricism and darker tone for TLOAS after TTPD but that doesn’t make any sense because it doesn’t line up with the theme of the album. Just because it’s not deep doesn’t mean it’s bad. She likes Shakespeare, and is compared to Shakespeare but she doesn’t need to write like Shakespeare for every song or album.
