I don’t hate her (obviously)..but I feel like that song makes her look like a genuine mean girl. Why on earth would you refer to someone as a chihuahua in a tiny purse .. like they’re some accessory and not a human being?? It’s disgusting, petty and incredibly immature coming from a woman who is nearly 40 years old and claiming not to care.😭

firstly, “nearly 40”? really? she’s 35. you wouldn’t call someone who’s 25 “nearly 30” or 15 “nearly 20”. let’s just get that sexist take out of the way. secondly, she’s allowed to write about her feelings when someone constantly berates and insults her as a person. whether it’s charli or her haters (and i think it’s about both), she has a right to speak her mind. i prefer to read it as if she’s talking to her haters because they really are like that.

She has a song like this every album. And she HAS written toxic songs before: Thank You Aimee and Bad Blood, for example. Those songs were done in poor taste and were, in my opinion, downright bad. But Actually Romantic is a commentary on how people use Taylor as a means to make themselves feel better by putting her down… And that’s fine

When she says chihuahua in a tiny purse she’s referring to the people that criticize her, the ones that tell her what she should be doing. She’s saying that they are all bark no bite basically, their words have no meaning to her and don’t hurt her.
