Since Taylor has stopped speaking out the fandom has become more dangerous for minorities. I’m a lesbian and since Taylor stopped being as vocal the number of death threats I have gotten for being gay has gone up exponentially. Like I have been told that Travis should rape me to turn me straight. This is the fandom now and the fandom is safer for people like that poster

People who let their political opinions dictate what they can and can’t enjoy are crazy. Do I agree with Taylor’s politics? No. Do I still love her music and I still a huge fan? Of course.

i actually noticed that too and it's absolutely disgusting and horrible like i totally get what you mean and honestly i've noticed that kinda behavior of some "fans" shortly after taylor got with travis... and honestly those "fans" aren't real fans and i think it's not a thing taylor could really change cause she has spoken up about it a lot even if it was in the past if some people really think taylor would change her mind like that about basic human rights then they're just fucking stupid

but honestly i wish that taylor would speak out too cause ik where you're coming from but it's also shocking to see how some celebrities get treated since they spoke out for example billie so it's really a weird situation...

It’s a weird situation for sure. I’m just pointing out that by not speaking out as much the fans who hold those beliefs are more vocal and feel safer. I do not know what the correct answer would be bc it is a complex issue. All I can say for sure is that this fandom is a million times safer for someone like that poster than it is for me.

I honestly don’t think it will change while she is still with Travis. Like part of me feels bad but part of me wishes the fandom could go back to the pre Travis days when it was safer for me. Like I’m aware it’s selfish but I miss the community I was able to have with other swifties before he came around

yeah same like i'm embarrassed to admit that cause ik she's happy with him but you're right the fandom was different before travis and also i've seen some controversial things that travis said in the past even if it was awhile ago it's weird... but honestly i don't think it's selfish cause if you're literally getting death threats that's really a good reason to feel that way like i totally get that...
