One of her dates had to be fully cancelled and she didn’t even say ANYTHING. It’s all about safety. Plus, maybe don’t look at a music artist about Gaza. Maybe, I don’t know, look at the politicians that ALLOWED and PAYED for this to KEEP ON HAPPENING.
She basically refused to say anything about children being bombed in Gaza for two whole years. And her fans be like "Yeah, that's okay... Mother!"

I agree that she isn’t a politician but Vienna shows were targeted bc she’s Taylor Swift. Vienna shows were targeted bc it’s a large group of people in one place. It had nothing to do with her morals or politics.

she has said she doesn’t plan to tour for a while. this is the best possible time for her to use her platform for good but she isn’t going to. there are so many issues she purports to care about but has stayed silent on since the lover era ended

That’s exactly what I’m saying. Imagine if she had said something. There are twisted, horrible people who will hear that and use force to show why they’re right.

It’s hard to be disappointed at an artist that had known to do anonymous donations. You can’t be disappointed about something you don’t know when you could’ve been talking to your politicians. And while this whole fandom is overthinking lyrics, maybe think about the fact that she had overly talked about being a democrat, which a lot of democrats spoke about Gaza. It’s hard to not be disappointed at an artist trying to keep both Gaza and their fans safe.

some of us are old enough to remember when she helped get thousands of signatures in favor of the Equality Act. other artists speak out for issues that matter to them or encourage their fan base to donate to important causes. joe alwyn himself has been openly pro palestine

at this point in time right now, what does not speaking on gaza have to do with keeping her fans safe? i went to 3 concerts this summer where the artist said free palestine and nobody died

There’s a difference between being an artist and being the music industry. People will literally try to kill her. For speaking her opinion. It has happened before to different people in the past. It will happen again. Some of us are smart enough to notice a pattern.

Oh girl don’t talk to me about old because I guarantee I top most of the people in this community. Believe me, I remember. You need to understand how different an entire different country with a generational war and genocide going on is compared to the Equality Act. I’m sorry but you genuinely cannot even compare these two.

do you know what really helps encourage people to reach out to their politicians? an artist they idolize pushing them to do so en masse. keep moving the goalposts for a billionaire who is silent to protect her brand

so why isn’t she speaking on gay and trans rights except at one single concert? she toured the entire country at a surge of anti trans legalization and said barely anything. she’s not on tour now and could be posting about it like she used to

You’re missing the entire point. Taylor is not required to talk about anything but her music. Point blank. End of story. There is absolutely nothing her saying about Palestine, that would change the end all be all of what is currently happening in Gaza and what will continue to happen. Knowing a pop stars view on a world matter, means nothing. It changes literally nothing. You people just want to put her in a box of “Celebrities who support Palestine” just to have her in there.

her telling people to register to vote changed things. she has a lot of power. she doesn’t HAVE to use it but i think she should feel compelled to as a person with a platform and it’s disappointing that she doesn’t

She is compelled to make music. She is a POPSTAR. End of story. That’s her job. You can be disappointed in her all you want. I hope you share the same disappointment with every other celebrity that hasn’t spoken out. She does not need to speak out and it is so exhausting that popstars are who you people hold accountable on speaking about worldly/humanitarian matters.

This is kinda a dumb thing to bring up. “You need to calm down” was on the setlist for 149 dates AND she has had dancers who are gay? Also, she brings up either of these rights and then the Gaylors pull up everyone’s tires of them…

“she can’t speak out for gay rights because the gaylors will think she’s gay” is such an absurd defense. she literally realized in the lover era that she could advocate for communities she’s not a part of and emphasized that she wanted to do that!!

You know what’s funny? I, a grown woman, could not give less of a fuck what each celebrity says about the LGBTQIA community, Gaza/Israel, Ukraine/Russia, etc. Couldn’t. Care. Less. Why? Because I’m grown enough to make my own decisions. Donate to causes I support. Contact my congressman on my own. WITHOUT my favorite idol pointing me in that direction. That’s how easy it is.

You’re clearly upset Taylor isn’t actively supporting things you do, so if you don’t want to root for her then you don’t have to! It’s an easy way out! I think it’s very strange to want to KNOW what an idol supports. Who fucking cares? Genuinely, who cares what she does or doesn’t do? Is it going to magically sway you to go march on DCs lawn?

mainstream artists and media supporting causes genuinely convinces others to change their mind. i want her to use her platform to convince and bring awareness to those who are more apolitical, uneducated, or “neutral” about these issues. tbh i think that’s a moral imperative if you have a platform

Listen I hope Taylor never speaks up on these things now. It’ll be labeled as performative even if she does and then she will continue to be attacked by our president like she has been attacked already, for much less. If you need a popstar to hold your hand through a genocide, be my guest. You people do not deserve to know what her thoughts are.

It’s not moral imperative. It never has been. People push it, but it says nothing about your morals. It’s, once again, performative.
