for 2022, 2023, and 2025 the 20th ranked player before tour finals had less than 2100 points. the rule is that the 8th spot in the event goes to a player who won a slam but was ranked between 8 and 20. on that technicality, alcaraz has been qualified for the tour finals since february, but they never show that bc its probably boring to not do it on a rolling basis
