I think the issue was th lack of attention I was paying. I was in the corner of the parking lot and late to work so I assume did I just backed out straight I’d be fine (which I would have if the police care wasn’t an abnormally sized truck with the biggest bumper know to existing surpacing the space of the parking spot)
Geez OP…why the hostility. Ive been driving for over 13 years now and this is a problem I see that many drivers old and new still don’t know the size of their vehicle. People rely on cameras too much, and still hit cars. I’m not a perfect driver but I am saying get to know the size of your car, trust that it’s worth it especially if you are parallel parking or just going a trip and some parking in other states are way different than your state.
Also I recommend trying to go on a back road (with no one around) and see what your car is capable of(have an experienced driver with you). A lot of people think that their car is a race car or something along those lines. The amount of people I see driving crossovers, trucks, and SUVs( not performance ones) driving their economic car like it’s a sports car.
I’m just an experienced driver giving not just you but everyone who reads this tips. Also EVERYONE just because your car has a “sport mode” or is the sport trim doesn’t mean it can do sports car stuff 😭😂. I’ve seen way too many crashes when people try to do some risky stuff in their cars.
