That’s how my mom would react too, controlling parents are actually the worst. I am so sorry you have to deal with that on top of college, parents are so ignorant at times. What I typically do is just to lie and make them feel better.. which sucks. Ex: “I am sorry I just didn’t realize the extent of your concern, I have just been wanting to relax without worrying about anyone and I got too self absorbed within my need for that and I made that mistake and it will not happen again. I am sorry”
