I just learned juniper blessings killer is deemed “unfit” for trial. This makes me feel mentally unwell. If you stab someone 40 times because they are transgender you deserve to be tortured until you are on the brink of death.

When someone is unfit for trial they either go to treatment until their fit, or they are never fit and continue to be in a hospital. They’re not free. I feel like having a visibly very mentally ill and unfit man on the stand would make him more pathetic and likely to be sympathetic to the jury, if he seems like he has no clue what’s happening in the courtroom they’d think maybe he had no clue what he was doing when he murdered her.

torture is a bad precedent, especially giving the weaponization and asymmetrical impact of the criminal legal system. if you know anything about trans people and said system you'll acknowledge that this would be used against marginalized groups including trans people. i'm against the death penalty for similar reasons how many innocent people are you willing to sacrifice, and possibly torture, for the retribution you crave? the number may not be zero

Its really not ridiculous to wish tourture upon someone who stabbed a fellow transfem 40 times. Bc they shouldnt be able to roam free in society.
