Where did you go to begin your transition? I’ve really been debating wanting to start estrogen but I would have no clue where to begin

i used Plume for the first year or two. was super easy/straight forward and they shipped my E in the mail in 3 month supplies. Then swapped to a local nurse practitioner. only downside to plume was you gotta pay outta pocket. was like $120 a month for me

Planned Parenthood was where I started. Then there was a state ban on care so I never got to fill that rx. Once that was overturned in the courts I found a primary that handles everything for me, based in a university medical system that used to have a “gender clinic” but no longer does. Many of those providers still care for the same patient groups, just removed all mention of it on websites and such. You’d have to call and specifically ask. But that was how I got in with my doc.

I started with Plume, then switched to my local clinic. I like Plume because they’re actually aware about trans issues and needs, whereas it’s a toss up with local doctors. Plume is more expensive though. My local doctors usually range from completely inept to knowledgeable-ish.

If you have the money, Plume is super fast and easy with few questions asked. Got estrogen within a week of asking

They cover labs, but you still need to pay their subscription and med fees. Folx is cheaper and they have a discounted annual price.
