Just tried to tape bind for the first time in like a year and failed again, but I looked up my problem specifically (breast tissue too dense) and found a post where someone apparently found a solution! Gonna try again tomorrow, wish me luck!!

It’s also been so long since I’ve tried again since I’d decided that it wasn’t worth trying again without going on t which would deflate my chest and make taping work better. But, I’ve been losing weight and they’ve deflated s l i g h t l y and I REALLY would like to start passing and be able to do so for the whole day instead of just 8 hours (binder), so I figured I should give it another shot now. Still too dense for the method I found, but hopefully this works!

I have c-cup and get it pretty flat ngl, i start an inch or 2 past my nipple and pull to the side but I take the tape all the way to the middle of my back on both sides. If it hurts where ur sternum is just put a piece of tape connecting it and it normally goes away

Omg thanks for posting this I have this problem! It’s a bit better after being on T for a while but I was literally searching for this for so long.

Also if anyone else is having this issue, here are the comments that describe the solution I’ll be trying. Use this in tandem with trans tape’s beau’s taping method video. You can also look up the name of the post, “Transtape advice for large-chested pre-T bodies” if you want to see the whole Reddit post

Correction, by “still too dense for the method I found” I’m referring to beau’s method on the trans tape YouTube channel, not the adapted version

I have DDs unfortunately so for now I’m going to stick with the method I posted about for tomorrow, but if that doesn’t work I’ll try yours out day after tomorrow!

I noticed that after I do all my flat, like 3-4ish pieces, than I’ll take one and start from the top corner and go down diagonally so it flatted it more while also pushing it sideways. Buttt I also put on a binder on top of it most of the time so 😭

Yikes, yeah no you’re not supposed to use binders and tape at the same time. I’d really highly recommend you try to figure out a better way of taping or stick to just binders (within healthy time limits), I’ve heard of another person who did the same thing and they can’t bind anymore from the damage they did

Honestly I haven’t had an issues I like it’s per person, I feel completely fine and it somehow helps my breathing? Maybe bc it makes me stand straighter? I’m not sure. Even tho I got the binder in my size and one larger, they both don’t fit unless I tape first, i think it’s a shoulder thing idk? Anyways my point is I’m fine and been doing it for a year and get X-rays and CT’s all the time and they say I’m fine 😭

Oh shit, well I’m glad you’re doing fine! I’m personally not gonna try that lol, but I’m glad you’ve found something that works well!

Lmfao thank you thank you, maybe like a compression T-shirt before a normal one? Just to minimize like everything moving

I don’t have any compression t shirts, but I do have compression tops from tomboyx (basically just sports bras but whatever) so I’ll try that out if just the tape doesn’t work! And if it does I’ll invest in compression t shirts lol

Idk sports bras giveeee shape, bc they are meant for actual chest. I think it might have the opposite effect

They’re not the type of sports bra with cups or anything, they’re intended to be used as lighter compression for when you can’t wear a binder and it works really well for people with smaller chests (based on the reviews at least), but on larger chests it’s just a sports bra. You make a good point though, I’ll keep that in mind
