hello lovely people! i'm away at college rn and i'm like 2+ hrs away from home. i want to start T, and there's a PP esque place nearby where i could probably get hrt. my question is: should i reach out to my PCP before i do this? or not bother??

i didn’t bother but i had also discussed it with my pcp previously. you can always just update them at your next physical and the doctor prescribing you should be able to access your records (i think??)

Planned parenthood themselves offer pcp appointments, although your place might be different. I’d say go for it, just make sure to notify your pcp of your added medications and just let them know about your transition

my pcp can prescribe hrt, which with my insurance is cheaper than going to PP (which suuuuuuucks bc i loved PP and their environment), so if that's a consideration to you i would. i think it's good in general to keep your PCP in the loop, but a online chart message or voicemail just saying hey here's what i'm doing is fine
