I posted in girl talk and said I hate being a girl

hm… well, to answer your question, an“egg” is someone who is trans but doesn’t realize yet. the person who told you that thinks you might be trans because of your post which is weird if all you said was “I hate being a girl,” since there’s many reasons for that lol. one potential answer’s that youre trans, but you could also just hate the expectations and prejudice levied against you for your womanhood

hating being a girl doesn’t mean you’ll like being a man or non-binary, though I do recommend exploring if you *would* enjoy being a man or something else. even if you end up realizing you’re cis, you still know more about yourself & can more confidently embrace being a woman

hope the wait wasn’t too bad, I showered then started driving lol. in any case, it’s less about how to explore and more about where to start. there’s a shit ton you can do to explore your gender perception & expression, and many resources for these topics. two of my favorites are The Gender Book (which you can find for free by looking up “The Gender Book Gumroad”), or the Trevor Project’s resource center for gender identity if a book is too bulky

learning more about gender & expression helps a lot, but—again—the amount of information can get overwhelming. there’s SO much nuance with gender, so starting simply is the best. in my case, I tried out a new set of pronouns in an online space before telling my close friends about it

pronouns are part of gender expression, and gender expression is almost the easy part imo. you’ve already explored being GNC by being a tomboy, but how you want to be perceived & internal gender can get way way more nuanced. engaging with other trans people definitely helps with figuring that out lol

yeah I hope he figures stuff out, they already have a head start with expression at least! and he got sent here, which is great since I trust this space as a good place for people who’re questioning lol
