1) spite is a wonderful motivator 2) i started transitioning cause of an ex and I don't regret it at all (although that was more out of guilt than spite)

If you genuinely want to transition and feel that your life will improve because of it separate from any feelings you have related to your ex, then do, but transitioning is something that should be based on what YOU want, not on other people. If you go through with it, make sure that you’re doing it for reasons other than spite.
