Hey! I’m not trans, but my dad is very anti-trans. He is a pharmacist that hates seeing Medicaid going towards gender affirming care, instead of people with real health issues. How can I convince him to not hate trans people?

You cannot convince him. A bigot cannot “have their minds changed” about bigotry without wanting to care

has he ever had a proper conversation with a trans person?

depends on who he is, but it’s most likely that you can’t convince him without him wanting to change. you could try showing him statistics of how their quality of life increases after trans people get the meds they need, but he might just deny it because it doesn’t fit what he believes.

There is no logic to hate. It’s unlikely you’ll be able to convince him at all

I think it’s insane that he’s a pharmacist who probably sees a ton of people each day with different needs and is STILL a bigot. If anyone you’d think that he knows that cis people also get gender affirming care? Like some cis men quite literally take T and have it prescribed to them

We live in Iowa, so not really. The most conversation he has had is trans people being upset over their meds.

I take the same hair medication as cis men 😭 I think transphobic c people just might be a little dumb

Fr like I have an uncle who literally takes the same type of T that I do. It’s actually insane how stupid transphobes are
