SHE IS WOKE PRAISE BE THE LORD (this is because she is in california not because she’s catholic)
so now i’m rooming with a catholic woman who for whatever reason chose a gender-inclusive dorm!

ALSO no she’s not queer (i think?) the situation was just because the suite was made because of a friend group situation

don’t mean to be rude but i’m a trans guy whose also catholic and from my experience we’re all pretty accepting and non-condemning. We actually follow the “love thy neighbor as yourself” and “thou who hath not sinned throw the first stone”. We as Catholics are pretty chill and yeah we got opinions but we just called to love God and each other and do the best we can to help each other when we can.

yesss she misgendered me once BUT corrected herself (my hair was tied back so that probably hurt my perception when we met)

we talked about communication management the day of so it’ll be fine. worst case scenario i can title ix her but i don’t feel necessary for that to happen. i also talked about my worries and she said it’s fine. we had a guy in the other suite which is intentional so she absolutely is capable of living with genders across the spectrum

also the whole friend group is like mostly poc? but all 3 of us using the bathroom are the same ethnicity. we also yapped for 2-3h i don’t think that can be faked

that’s amazing dude i’m super happy for you, but a lot of times when we find community we trust too fast. I promise you a 2-3 hour yap session is not enough to know their intentions and feelings towards you, especially in a setting they cannot change. I’m not tryna make you scared, but i wish someone would’ve said it to me and i know a lot of ppl who feel the same so i just wanted to make sure you’re like aware

i’m also a catholic trans guy and i’m afraid that hasn’t always been my experience in my community (both my church and extended family are vaguely to blatantly anti-lgbtq+) i am very glad to hear that you’ve had good experiences though!! just that not all catholics are chill, though not all are condemning either

i was raised catholic and though the kids were like that for the most part, the adults absolutely were not but it’s been a while since i’ve interacted with someone of religion to this level

“like that” referring to acceptance

hey no worries! i absolutely get that and if something happens ill just title ix her. its no biggie but rn she seems sweet and i want to take her at face value! she’s also explained her hesitancies with having a new roommate in general (especially with the context of how her suite was initially set up) but im very glad she was on board with the idea after we talked about housing arrangements and whatnot

so given that i have had bad experiences i did want to just make sure that she was okay with the setup and whatnot

hi update on this :) she’s probably transphobic since she left the room. she was sleeping in a different room beforehand. she never said anything outright so it is what it is. i got new suitemates though :) and they’re very friendly towards me and lgbtq+

i guess technically this was the worst case scenario. if she had been outwardly transphobic it would have been easier to title ix her
