Def talk to them about possibly wearing a suit if that’s what you’d rather, ik either way the misgendering that comes with that sucks, but that could help you feel a bit better.

would you rather be a groomsman or just not part of the wedding party? there’s time before the wedding to come out and/or you can tell them you love them but don’t have the capacity to fill that role for them rn

i 100% would rather be a groomsman it’s also hard because it’s my brother who is getting married so regardless of my gender i’d rather be on his side not his girlfriends. i feel like im only being asked because i have three older brothers who will all be groomsmen

You are just wanting to be comfortable at an event celebrating your sibling. If someone says that tell them you just want to be happy for your brother rather than upset and suffering at their wedding.
