And I’ll hear them call cis men dude and boy and bro and it just grates on my nerves. Because I don’t mind it when they do it out of habit, but I don’t like them stopping to single me out and point out I’m not a girl but they also won’t treat me like I’m not a girl
I feel this so hard in the reverse. I hate being called bro and man and stuff and it feels like some people just do not care to ask if it makes me uncomfortable or not. Like “oh it’s not gendered!” I mean maybe thats how you view it but it’s literally the word “man” and a shortening of “brother” so is it really that much of a surprise or imposition when I ask you not to use those for me😭 Some people are super chill about it tho but mostly other trans people who already know about it being common
