Theory: it's a confidence thing. for the most part, people tend to be more confident when they have a partner because having a partner is kinda like definitive evidence that you're attractive and ya know... worth dating. subsequently confidence in oneself is attractive so more people will hit on you cause you're more confident and carry yourself as such
