So “armed minorities are harder to oppress” is great and I absolutely support it, but many of us cannot safely own guns. What should we do instead? Self defense knowledge and pepper spray only go so far against someone who DOES have a gun.

Bear spray is the only vaguely comparable alternative Everything else besides a gun advertised as a “self defense tool” is legit just a scam and theories that they are made to make women easier victims of crimes are popular for a reason

Honestly the best alternative is have a couple friends with guns if u really are at risk

It’s mostly dependent on state self defense laws But it’s basically the same law that I would expect for any actual self defense situation

It’s mostly just a problem of unless u are willing to use a gun it’s really hard to argue self defense in court

Unless it is able to fully stop someone no matter what from moving at all at over 5 yards it’s not useful for self defense

Yeah, that’s not entirely true and guns aren’t really much better for that for many either.
