So I have a pride club at my uni, and I went today after like a month of not going. And I feel bad for saying this this I swear like 90% of thoes people im that room gave me the ick. I’M WOKE AND I LOVE PEOPLE, but it just. Too mean and cringy and..oh boy
rip I’m sorry :/ I get this, I don’t like the club setting since it’s never a platform for the people I want to be friends with, even if they’re present

Unless they’re mean, what’s wrong with being cringe?

Yeah ngl, I usually find those clubs to be full of people who are very cringy to be around ngl
I always end up feeling like the token trans woman and it just weirds me out. Like I want to be seen as a person, not as my transness

It’s ok to not get along with people, even if you share an identity

And I dont say that to be mean, but there was someome with greasy hair, people definitely a little tone deaf, and I felt a little uncomfortable even though there were still so many nice people.

eh if you're in a big enough community there's gonna be people who annoy you. if someone was outright awful that'd be one thing (although unless everyone was and no one spoke against them that'd be different) but if it's just that, i'd say avoid those people.

I hate that it has become a thing that queerphobes throw around, but ngl, sometimes there is such a thing as making your whole personality your identity ngl. Like idk, I wouldn’t mind being able to talk about hobbies or interests and not just “oh I’m gay hehe”
