my (good) friends see me as my gender, and it’s such a huge compliment for them to admit a crush. that takes vulnerability, so people don’t say they have crushes even if they don’t have one

In middle school I found out my lesbian friend had a crush on me for a long time until I came out as a trans man and then she no longer had a crush on me, opposite experience same gender euphoria

“falling as close to in love as you can”, you mean? also, I found out I was aro because I was on the opposite side of this for my own friend 😔 it sucked for him until a bit after he told me, but I hope it was better for you

yeah, i do. he passed away unfortunately, but i loved him fiercely and i think he knew that. im on the ace spectrum (ambivalent abt it) where demisexual/romantic would describe me best, so he was my best friend before he was my crush
