You might have a really low absorption. Your levels should be within the range of a cis man's (usually doctors unfortunately force us to have below average levels). Your body will convert excess testosterone to estrogen, which is why it's important not to take too much. What are your actual blood levels?

The ENTIRE vial? Every single week??

uhhhhhh yeah. more information is needed. what type of t are you taking? are you actually injecting (i’m assuming that’s the method?) 200 ml, or is that the concentration of the t? etc

You inject an entire vial every week?

is this what your t looks like (or similar) or is it something different?

for reference, this is the typical dosing guidelines. to calculate how much you’re actually taking you have to inject the amount you’re injecting * the concentration. for ex. my dose is .35 ml * 200mg/ml, so 70mg of t a week. which is within the normal range.

uh yeah. that’s lowkey insane. that’s double the recommended max. you should definitely speak to your doctor to get your hormones levels and hemoglobin checked. theoretically there are reasons (mostly other hormonal conditions) to have a dose that high, but they would/should have explained to you why your dose was so unusual.

Are you sure it says 1ml and not 0.1ml? That’s what I started on and I’m damn near 300lbs

In no universe is an entire vial of testosterone used in a single week.

could it be that the vials and prescription say "single use" on them? a lot of them say this not because its an entire dosage but because they have to label it that way for distribution

Some of our doctors prescribe a vial every week so we can stockpile, taking advantage of the “single use” guidelines (even though it is safe to reuse vials), but your actual dose would be something different. One of my friends gets 12 vials for a three month supply, but he’s only supposed to inject .4ml a week. Something to consider.

be cautious man and pls listen to other trans guys, especially ones who have been on hrt for a while or helped others get on. Idk your doc, but just keep in mind that doctors often do Not know how to treat trans people, even doctors that prescript hrt. hell I go to an lgbtq-focused org in chicago and sometimes they don’t know jack.

we’ve all got to look out for each other you know? and if you don’t have any adverse effects then this dose could be right for you, I really don’t know and I won’t pretend I do. but advocate for frequent blood tests or something, just to be safe

i was on 0.5 mL subQ of 200 mg/mL a week and it got my t levels so high my body started converting it into estrogen. unless you're like 500 lbs that dose is probably too much.
