cleveland clinic succumbed too. so did a big hospital system in my state for under 19s. this shit is really depressing. two fucking million reserved to pay for people who detransition (WILDLY overblown payment) vs $308,000 for """"""false billing""""" to get gender affirming care covered by insurance, so sure seems like it really wasn't that big an issue (sarcasm. trans healthcare is good and i'm sickened by its attacks). 20 fucking years they have to agree not to do GAC for minors.

operate. i'm so angry and they're targeting the most vulnerable people among us and i know i know i know there's still good there's still people that care, but i just. im frightened. with the shit happening with research defunding too, for any """DEI""" initiatives and a bunch of other shit that is just Not How You Do Good Quality Research (not doge, this is new), it's overwhelming.

they have to maintain a fucking website about it. they have to hire/assign a care coordinator. they can't refer for treatment. none of their clinics or employees can provide it (what if an employee provides it at another location while continuing working there, like how a dr who works at an FQHC did in my town?). they're going to search the EPIC (mychart) system annually for compliance. medications which aren't even exclusively for transition can get you flagged (god forbid cis people (or

intersex ppl? whole ruling is so stupid i can't say) get dragged into this). also that whole thing is based on a right wing bullshit organization founded in 2022. i totally trust they're going to actually keep patient data deidentified. and they're targeting something a LOT of our drs use - billing medicaid as an endocrine disorder. that makes the $308,000 make a lot more sense, since medicaid won't be a gigantic portion of their small population of trans patients compared to the general public.
