Hey all! Tfem, looking to get on E but I’m still on parent’s insurance and I can’t afford to spend a lot on it. Where do you all get it? Any tips or tricks that would help me discretely start transitioning? Thanks!

planned parenthood, ask to self-pay and what sliding scale options they have. goodrx for the prescriptions.

There’s an online pharmacy called mark cuban coat plus drug company. For 90 tablets of 2mg estradiol it’s $12.42 before shipping. For 90 tablets of 100mg spironolactone it’s $20.01. Try that if you’re having trouble affording prescriptions

Thanks! I’ve been to PP once but they were less than caring when I asked about side effects and mitigation, but I’m in a new area now, so I’ll hope that my poor experience was just limited to that single location

yeah i’ve moved a couple times and been to three different planned parenthoods, while all were helpful there were clear differences between the providers in both bedside manner and general comfortability/knowledgeability re: trans healthcare. some centers don’t have a lot of trans patients and/or don’t have any knowledge of trans healthcare outside the most basic hrt regimens.

all that to say, def try the new center before writing them off and exploring other options. planned parenthood is quite simply the easiest way to access legal hrt in the US.

Good to know, I’ll give it a try, and hopefully it isn’t that expensive to go while making sure my parents don’t see it on my insurance. Thanks again!
