I mean, that’s what I did… I really recommend taking that time, but my therapist had given me a gender dysphoria diagnosis very early into seeing them and said that I could transition any time, I have the diagnosis. It was my choice to wait. Did your therapist explain more of their reasoning?
I mean, there likely are ways to get it sooner. The fact your therapist is being restrictive and picking a date instead of setting goals with you that they want you to meet before transitioning concerns me. I’ve heard of people being tricked into wait 6 months, then after that time another 6 months, cause these time restriction things are usually arbitrary. But don’t take my word for it, ask your therapist about why 6 months specifically? Instead of a time, can you set goals together
And where are you, country wise? If it’s the states you could technically just make a Dr. appointment with a gender affirming doctor and go right ahead, esp if you find an informed consent clinic. But I do go a bit against the general grain in saying I really really recommend taking the time to fully understand who you are, why you want to transition, and what you’re feeling. It’s good practice imo, and really helps with the security of knowing detransition is unlikely if you are 110% ready
