i told mine. i went with my spanish professor first. she was accepting and kind and i did it over email in our introductions part of class. even though i was still presenting as a girl (but weird) and going by my legal name in class, she was completely respectful of me and i was able to put my name on exams. i saw her recently and told her how much that meant to me.

additional context, i’m going to a fairly small community college in texas in the spring, so like. im really terrified of possibly bigoted professors deadnaming me and outing me to other students in the class and putting me in potential danger :/

My school has an area in one of our self service websites to put a chosen name and a nickname, if you do this then the professor only sees the chosen name on everything and not your deadname, it doesn’t change your email name though but I’m stealth with family so that’s kinda a good thing

that’s nice to hear!! i considered for a second maybe just girlmoding and ignoring it, but i’m at a point in my transition where i basically couldn’t girlmode if i tried cuz ppl would probably just think im a tgirl which is far worse in terms of me getting possibly harassed, so hopefully my professors will be this understanding so i can just exist and be me, and go to my classes without being afraid all the time 😭

i did it until about a year on hrt. it was so so relieving to finally be able to be a boy.
