Is it weird that I low-key don't mind people using my birth name? I use He/They pronouns, but my birth name is already pretty androgynous, and if you look at my full name you’d definitely assume I'm AMAB, but I've been told I should HATE my name 🤧

I fear I am a little attached to it, it's cute. I just don't want to be told I'm LARPing being trans, or that I'm not trans enough, if you get what I mean? bc I have for other things, and now I feel like an imposter 😀

note: i think you could say a cis guy bc famously, we are on the group chat with ppl who are gorgeous women who are not cis so. being "born male" doesn't really mean anything abt how you look now

if people think you’re larping just because you didn’t change your name then they’re either not trans themselves or they’re an elitist… the first trans woman I know kept her birth name lmao

more likely it has nothing to do with how he looks since it’s just referencing their birth name

idk it's kinda the same point. like, my brother and me both have masculine names but he's cis and i'm trans. assigned gender at birth doesn't really matter here as much as pointing to being seen as a guy with something that could be a guy's name (which cis guys tend to have)

yeah I’m generally an AGAB language hater but I think it fits, considering how assigned name at birth goes with assigned gender at birth lol

Sorry, I didn't know people didn't use that anymore……🧍

it’s less of a “don’t use it ever” and more of a “it’s a necessary evil that we suffer when we have to.” it comes off as an ick when it’s said when not necessary, tho in your post’s case it was fitting, so you’re fine
