Nobody ever warns you how isolating it can feel to be Trans man pre medical transition. Some people support, some don’t count you as trans even in your own community because you don’t fit the part enough. Other outsiders think you’re confused.

As someone who previously identified as a trans man, this is so true. Everyone just assumed I was a lesbian and when I’d tell them that I was a man, they’d look at me like I was crazy. I kid you not, I was hanging out with my bio dad and some of his friends, one of his friends walks in, my dad introduces me as “This is my son, Jason” (my name at the time). His friend looks at me, looks at my dad shocked, then just says “I’m so sorry, dude” to my dad

Even after passing / being on T for years, it’s still isolating for me tbh

That’s awful I’m so sorry! And I also understand the lesbian accusations. I’ve gotten those accusations my entire life and still do, even though I’m actually into men, and I try explaining it as “a gay man trapped in a woman’s body” I get odd disbelieving looks.

This made me so angry my tummy hurts I can’t imagine how you felt in the moment. Nobody deserves someone being that mean regardless of opinions
