that slur was used to bully me. you can call yourself that all you want, but if you call someone that and they do not like to be called that, then they are 100% valid in their feelings

oh yea 100% im not gonna call someone it without permission. but people have got mad at ME for calling MYSELF it. idk to me if someone tried to make fun of me w the word id say “ok yea i am?” like i want a trans person to explain exactly why its even offensive. like just move on if someone calls u it, u are trans…

it’s not the definition of the word, it’s the intent behind it. the slur was used to dehumanize, mock, or degrade trans people. it’s also used heavily in pornographic contexts and fetishizes trans people you wouldn’t be telling someone of color to “move on” when they’re called a slur just because they are the definition of the word.

i mean idk tbh. yea slurs all originate from somewhere but its US PEOPLE that keeps that definition going when we can change definitions to words, it happens all the time in history. like hot “gay” used to mean happy or how “awful” used to mean inspiring. we can change meanings of words, idk i say own the word and it doesnt have any harsh meaning to it even if someone was trying to use it in ill intent

like if someone tried insulting me with the word tranny again id be like ok what about it? like use something more harsh. idc about some dumb word. its a word, it only holds meaning if u make it hold meaning. just like saying “im sorry” its only a word unless u mean it when u say it or trust it when its said to you

dude. youre arguing that it’s wrong to feel this way about a word their harassers & discriminators used against them. the word is going to bring up bad memories, they’re not “making it hold [that] meaning.” frankly, it’s rude to say that.

rude tryn me rude or tell someone not to feel that way. but like i mean u cant deny if u let it bother u, u are letting the word still hold meaning. like there are much more insulting things to say to someone thats trans than a simple word. also tranny used to be a word used in drag and ru paul to this day defends that word because if u own it, it takes away its harsh meaning
