has anyone here had success w/ college parties / night life? I feel like I can't go out as a trans guy because I'll end up on somebody's social media being made fun of

Yep go out pretty regularly with friends. Don’t get me wrong there are assholes out there but having a support network that’ll stand up for you while you stand up for yourself helps

yeah im a trans woman and i love going out with friends but it really depends where you are and who you’re with. i recommend going out to already queer places because they’re safer but also a lot more fun (music, food, drinks, outfits, and convos are ALL better the more queer and kink friendly a place is). and also go out with people who are queer themselves and understand that just because they have to keep themself safe that doesnt mean no one else is vulnerable

do you have any tips for somebody pretty ugly/going alone?? genuine question because idk if I should give up and spare myself the final blow to my self esteem .. I want to be more social and have fun experiences but it feels like it's too late

lowkey i accidentally took a picture with this girl in the first week of college who i realized afterwards was probably definitely an asshole. so like. exposure therapy i guess. cause i mean nothing bad happened, world kept spinning, and i made tons of friends throughout the year. if someone's a dick, then they're a dick. sometimes you kinda just gotta live and know that some people are assholes. but that doesn't mean it'll affect you at all and if it does, you'll live, right?

on the last point. going out with cishet women is nice sometimes but lots of them do NOT realize they are not the most vulnerable person in the group and will sometimes expect you to protect them or just not think about who is and isn’t a safe person to bring around you. i’ve been in full femme pre transition with my very femme gay man friend and had a girl i was with try and flag down a car full of frat guys
