I’ve been on E for 11 months and I don’t think I’ll ever actually be a woman. I just feel like no one will ever perceive me as one and I will never experience womanhood :(

I have permanent 5 oclock shadow (thank you dark facial hair on pale skin) and a deep voice. I just want to be a girl who can go to work and out in the world and recognized as a woman

This is a lot of how I feel and it was really made worse since I had to stop only a little while in because of some financial struggles coming up I hate it were probably both wrong but I get the feeling i really do

Thankfully it’s still a situation that WILL change. You’re not transitioning for others— you’re transitioning for yourself. And we sometimes lose sight of that, especially when we fall into the trap of comparison. For hair— work on getting electrolysis (not laser) done. Electrolysis is truly permanent. Voice training can be done by yourself or with a group of others, or you can find a clinic that has a speech pathologist. There are myriad resources out there, too. Don’t beat yourself up. 🩷

idk if you’re on spiro/how long you’ve been on spiro, but spiro is the one that makes your facial hair WAY lighter. coming from someone who felt the exact same way but now has invisible facial hair when it used to be super dark

I’m just so tired of people supporting me and gendering me correctly but I know they don’t fully see me as a woman

My body has changed so much, but at the same time it feels like nothing has changed

usually people don’t realize how much hrt has actually changed them, I’m sure there are more differences than you’re perceiving

Also… it’s good to avoid a lot of Internet forums and feel things out before engaging. Some can be very toxic. r/MTF or r/asktransgender can be great for folks early on looking for resources/sharing in support, but I’ve heard a lot of good things about Bluesky’s spaces (I don’t have it, though), or r/TransLater.

I’ve been in your shoes before and it sucks. But it’s important to focus on the tangible things you can work on/toward now instead of getting caught up in the perceived “can’t” list.
